To provide Koreans living overseas with a safe living environment in the midst of the recent wave of violence against Asian-Americans, Seoul's foreign ministry will provide one-hundred-54-thousand U.S. dollars for overseas Korean groups in six countries.
In a statement released on Monday, the ministry said the fund will be used for establishing networks with other Asian organizations, holding seminars on preventing hate crimes and organizing a task force on hate crime prevention.
It added that the project will provide an opportunity to solidify ties between South Korea and overseas Koreans.
