U.S. expected to complete N. Korea policy in "coming weeks" Updated: 2021-03-13 12:26:36 KST

The U.S. is expected to complete its North Korea policy in a few weeks, that's according to a senior State Department official.
Acting Assistant Secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Sung Kim told the media that he doesn't have an exact timeline, but the U.S. is working expeditiously, and they may be able to complete the review in the comings weeks.
He added that they have stayed in very close touch with their allies, South Korea and Japan.
In the coming week, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is visiting Seoul and Tokyo, to discuss issues on the Korean peninsula and more.
Kim said the upcoming visit would provide great opportunities for the Asian allies to offer their own input into a new North Korea policy.
