North Korea has approved a military guarantee to further boost the regime's war deterrence strategy, with specific details as yet unknown.
The decision was made during a three-day high-profile party meeting on key defense policies, which ended on Thursday.
There was no discussion on the regime's nuclear program amid global concerns that Pyeongyang is on the verge resuming nuclear tests.
The North's state media reported Friday that leader Kim Jong-in presided over the meeting and underlined "the need for the entire army to go all out to implement their military strategic plan and consolidate in every way the powerful self-defense capabilities for overwhelming any hostile forces."
