The WHO said Thursday that it has granted emergency use authorization for a COVID-19 vaccine made by China's CanSino Biologics.
The UN health agency said that the single-dose vaccine was found to be about 92-percent effective against severe COVID-19 and 64-percent effective in preventing people from getting symptoms of the virus.
The vaccine is recommended for everyone aged 18 and above.
The vaccine is the 11th vaccine overall, and the third Chinese vaccine to be approved by the WHO.
