N. Korea excluded from UN's 2022 humanitarian aid due to border closure Updated: 2021-12-03 19:57:41 KST

North Korea has been left off the UN humanitarian aid plan for 2022 due to the regime's pandemic-related border closure, which has made it difficult for UN staff to conduct on-site inspections there.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs says the North has not been included in the support plan for two years now.
The UN body also evaluated the food situation in the North as 'severely unstable.'
Thirty other countries mentioned as nations with humanitarian crises, including Afghanistan and Myanmar, were listed.
