The one million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine that South Korea provided to Iran arrived in Tehran on Wednesday, local time.
The consignment was delivered on humanitarian grounds to help Iran tackle a vaccine shortage.
Upon arrival, Korean embassy officials held a banner reading "From South Korea."
The Deputy Director General of the Iranian Health Ministry Dr. Jalal Naeli said "we are thankful to South Korea for providing the vaccines. And as the two countries are close culturally and economically we are hoping for more cooperation."
