Japan's foreign affairs ministry is set to upload a video to YouTube, claiming that "Sea of Japan" is the "only internationally established name" for the body of water to the east of the Korean Peninsula and to the west of Japan. known in Korea as the "East Sea."
According to Japanese newspaper Sankei Shimbun on Friday, the four-minute video will offer translations in 10 different languages including Korean.
The video is likely to be similar to the one uploaded in August, which says that the name "Sea of Japan" is widely used by the international community including the UN and the U.S.
South Korea's foreign ministry says that it is aware of such claims, and that it will continue to correct any misinformation.
