Germany to provide visas to 2,600 Afghans Updated: 2021-09-16 21:11:17 KST

The German government will grant visas to around 2,600 Afghan nationals.
Among those on the visa list are Afghans who have previously worked for German companies and organizations.
Human rights activists, journalists, artists, and scientists deemed to be in danger of Taliban retaliation will also be given the residence permit.
Berlin officials say the visa recipients are exempt from applying for refugee status as the permits will allow them to stay in Germany for up to three years.
