South Korea's Unification Ministry has reiterated that it's going to continue working to expedite a resumption of talks with North Korea despite the regime's multiple missile launches in the past week and the denunciation of President Moon by the North Korean leader's sister, Kim Yo-jong.
A unification ministry official urged Pyeongyang to return to talks, adding that dialogue and cooperation are the way towards the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
The official also said that the ministry will continue its efforts to manage affairs on the Peninsula in a stable way.
Regarding the statement from Kim Yo-jong, the official stressed that basic manners and respect should be adhered to in any case.
This was the first time a statement from Kim has mentioned the South Korean President directly.
The source said those remarks to do nothing to promote peace.
