South Korea today reported 1,372 new cases of COVID-19, the first time in two weeks that the daily caseload has fallen below 14-hundred.
Of those transmitted locally, around 70 percent were in the capital region.
The current social distancing measures expire on Sunday.
So on Friday, the government will announce new measures for the month of September.
It will also announce special measures for the upcoming Chuseok holiday, when millions travel across the country to see family.
Those will likely include limits on the size of gatherings and the rules for nursing home visits.
