South Korea has taken part in a series of multilateral meetings this week.
On Wednesday, at the East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers' Meeting, Seoul's foreign minister Chung Eui-yong met virtually with his counterparts from the ASEAN countries and discussed the Korean Peninsula peace process.
This meeting was also joined by the U.S., Japan and China.
Minister Chung asked for their support in efforts to resume dialogue with North Korea.
As for the issue of the South China Sea, where China and its neighbors have border disputes, Minister Chung emphasized the importance of international law and freedom of navigation.
Also discussed at the meeting were cooperation against COVID-19, vaccine partnership as well as restoring democracy in Myanmar.
