South Korean vice foreign minister Choi Jong-kun is meeting his U.S. counterpart Wendy Sherman in Seoul.
It's their first meeting since the start of the Biden administration.
The agenda includes a follow-up to the Moon-Biden summit in May, including vaccine partnership and supply chains of key materials.
They're also likely to discuss the Korean peace process.
Sherman will visit China this weekend, and a State Department spokesperson said that, while Washington's relationship with Beijing is competitive, there are also areas of cooperation, including North Korea.
