Israel was on the brink of fully containing COVID-19.
But now, with the spread of the Delta variant, the country is back on defense.
"The Delta variant, which is sometimes referred to as the Indian variant, is spreading in an accelerated manner throughout the world right now with a much greater infection rate than we have known. Which is to say, it is about 50 percent more infectious, and to my regret, we are also seeing the beginning of a spread within the State of Israel."
Bennett said Tuesday that masks will become mandatory again within airports and he encouraged Israelis to resume wearing masks indoors.
This comes a matter of days after Israel lifted its indoor mask mandate.
The prime minister also urged Israelis to avoid nonessential international travel, but stressed that it's a request at the moment, not an order.
In Russia, Moscow has put in place measures that will require all restaurant patrons to be either vaccinated against or immune to the virus.
The announcement was made Tuesday by Moscow's mayor as the Russian capital grapples with a third wave.
The measures take effect from June 28th.
Restaurants will be required to only accept an official QR code proving the patron's status.
Paper vaccination certificates or tests results won't be accepted.
With the Delta variant now the dominant strain in the UK, it reported another 11,625 cases Tuesday,and another 27 deaths.
However, despite that, the crowd capacity at London's Wembley Stadium for the semi-finals and final of Euro 2020 was increased Tuesday to more than 60-thousand.
This means the stadium will be at 75-percent capacity.
The increase will mark the largest crowds assembled for a sporting event in the UK since the start of the pandemic.
In Brazil, at least 140 people have tested positive for COVID-19 since the start of the Copa America football tournament.
Forty two cases were reported among players and members of national teams.
Ninety two among staff members.
Brazil was chosen to host the tournament this month, despite concerns about the rapid spread of COVID-19 in the country.
