President Moon sends condolences, orders transparent probe of Gwangju building collapse Updated: 2021-06-10 13:21:50 KST

President Moon Jae-in has expressed his condolences to the families of the nine people who died in Gwangju on Wednesday when a five-story building collapsed.
Another eight people were injured.
Today, President Moon ordered the local government as well as the ministries of land and safety to provide medical aid to the injured and to help the families with the funerals.
President Moon also ordered the police and the land ministry to thoroughly investigate what caused the building to collapse and to keep the injured and the families up-to-date on their findings.
He also instructed officials to ensure that this never happens again.
