As tensions rise between Russia and NATO over the fate of Ukraine, the Russian Navy said Sunday that it's closely tracking a British patrol ship that entered the Black Sea in an apparent show of solidarity with Ukraine.
The British Embassy in Turkey said the same day that the HMS Trent was en route to the Ukrainian port of Odessa, accompanied by the Turkish coast guard.
The Black Sea is becoming another potential theater of confrontation between NATO and Russia.
Last week, the Russian Navy said it started tracking a French patrol ship that also entered the Black Sea.
And last month, the U.S. canceled plans to send a pair of guided-missile destroyers there, a move Russia said would've been "extremely provocative."
