The Associated Press is calling on Israel to provide evidence that the building it destroyed with airstrikes in Gaza on Saturday was used by Hamas.
The twelve-story building housed the offices of the AP, along with Al Jazeera and others, who were reportedly given one hour's notice by Israel to evacuate before it was leveled.
AP's President and CEO, Gary Pruitt, said afterwards that AP had been in the building for 15 years and had "no indication" that the building was used by Hamas, and that this is something AP checks actively.
He called the strike "disturbing."
The Israeli Defense Forces maintain that the building housed Hamas military intelligence, including a unit responsible for terror activity against Israel.
