CDC allows use of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for American adolescents aged 12-15 Updated: 2021-05-13 10:00:41 KST

The CDC's independent federal advisory committee has given the greenlight to allow American children between 12 and 15 years old to get the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
The panel met Wednesday to discuss the safety, immune response and effectiveness of the vaccine for that age group.
This comes a matter of days after the FDA signed off on it.
The CDC's approval means inoculations can begin as soon as Thursday, local time.
