Myanmar military junta take newborn baby of protest leader hostage: The Irrawaddy Updated: 2021-05-08 14:41:53 KST

Over in Myanmar, military junta forces reportedly took the wife and newborn baby of an anti-coup protest leader hostage.
Local news organization the Irrawaddy reported that the forces were searching for the house of activist leader ( )Than Win, but instead, took away his wife and their 20-DAY-old baby as they could not find him.
In the meantime, local media also reported that at least 16 military troops were killed by civilian resistance forces from the Kani Township during a series of shootouts on Thursday and Friday.
It added seven members of the resistance force and two civilians were also killed, citing local witnesses.
