Myanmar protesters launch blue shirt campaign on social media, calling for release of detained Updated: 2021-04-22 07:01:08 KST

Myanmar protesters have launched a "blue shirt campaign," calling for the release of over 3-thousand people detained by the military.
People across the country shared photos on social media Wednesday, wearing blue shirts and holding up a hand with the name of an arrested person written on it.
It was also the seventh death anniversary of a co-founder of the National League of Democracy party and the longest-held political prisoner in Myanmar history.
He wore a blue prison shirt from his release in 2008 until his death in 2014 in solidarity with political prisoners.
