President Moon Jae-in will hold his first summit with U.S. President Joe Biden in Washington in late May.
South Korea's top office said early Friday that it looks forward to in-depth discussions on ways to continue to develop the strong Seoul-Washington alliance and cooperative measures to achieve the complete denuclearization and lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula.
It added that the summit highlights the importance the two nations put on the alliance and the friendship between their respective people.
The Blue House said the two sides are coordinating on the specific schedule and will let the public know when confirmed.
