S. Korea reports more than 600 new cases; bars, clubs to close Updated: 2021-04-12 05:47:46 KST

Our top story this morning, South Korean authorities have decided to stick with the current level of social distancing nationwide for another three weeks, as the nation reported more than 600 new daily cases of COVID-19 for the third day in a row.
One change from the retained measures is that beginning today, bars and clubs will have to shut for the extended period in the greater Seoul area and in the southern port city of Busan.
Restaurants will still be allowed to have customers dine in until 10 PM, but that could be moved to an hour earlier if numbers rise.
Face masks also must be worn inside, with people violating the rule to be fined around 90 U.S. dollars.
