The COVID-19 pandemic has sparked an unprecedented decline in car production in Europe.
According to a European automobile association on Tuesdaynew car registrations across the EU fell by nearly 24 percent last year.
That's the biggest year-on-year decline since the organization began collecting data in 1990.
Two periods of full scale lockdown and other restrictions throughout the year were pointed out as the cause of the plunge.
Spain suffered the worst slump among Europe, with new car sales falling by a third followed by Italy and France.
