South Korea's leading chemical company, LG Chem, has reported an all-time high operating profit for the third quarter.
The company says operating profit came to just under 785 million U.S. dollars, an increase from the same period last year in the local currency of almost 1-hundred-60 percent.
It beat Wall Street estimates by 6-hundred-19 million dollars.
The company attributed the jump to strong sales of petrochemicals and products for electric car batteries.
Analysts expect profits to be up in the fourth quarter as well.
