South Korea's consumer prices rose in August by seven tenths of a percent compared to a year earlier, the biggest rise in five months.
According to Statistics Korea, the Consumer Price Index this month stood at one-hundred-five.five.
That's also up six tenths of a percent from the previous month.
The agency attributed the rise to higher prices for agricultural goods following a record-long monsoon season and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Agriculture, livestock and fishery product prices rose 10.six percent on-year, marking the biggest rise since 2017.
