NSC to continue efforts with relevant countries to resolve GSOMIA issue Updated: 2019-11-22 04:13:30 KST

South Korea's National Security Council says it will work closely with relevant parties to resolve issues regarding its soon-to-expire military information sharing pact with Japan, but it seems the deal will lapse.
Chaired by National Security Advisor Chung Eui-yong on Thursday, the council reaffirmed its stance that the pact cannot go on unless Japan lifts its export curbs on South Korea.
With GSOMIA set to end Saturday, President Moon is likely to make his final decision on whether to scrap the deal based on what was discussed on Thursday.
He has been clear that Seoul has no choice but to go ahead and leave, if there's no change in Japan's attitude.
