North Korea has made it official, that it will not be sending any ranking official next week to a special summit between South Korea and ASEAN in Busan.
The regime's state media reported Thursday that despite the invitation sent earlier this month by President Moon Jae-in to the regime's leader Kim Jong-un, North Korea sees no reason to attend.
The South Korean presidential office said it's extremely regrettable that Kim Jong-un is unable to join the 10 ASEAN leaders for meetings focused on peace and prosperity.
In a message to reporters, the presidential spokesperson said the top office will continue to pursue peace on the Korean Peninsula.
