The South Korean tanker seized by the Iranian government nearly three months ago could be released soon, as Tehran says its leaning towards returning the ship.
According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry on Monday, all investigations related to the tanker were conducted "in the direction of helping the captain and the ship".
It noted that the South Korean government had firmly requested the ship's return, and that no criminal record for the captain was found.
The government added the issue over the detained vessel is separate from relations between the two countries, and that it's positively reviewing the case.
Meanwhile, South Korean Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun is scheduled to visit Tehran to close negotiations with Iranian officials.
