South Korea ranked No.1 for the month of June in Bloomberg's monthly "Covid Resilience Ranking," an assessment of its performance in dealing with COVID-19.
This is the country's first time in the top spot, rising 5 places from May.
After South Korea in Bloomberg's ranking were the United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Norway and Saudi Arabia.
The ranking is based on things like the number of vaccine doses per 100 people as a positive indicator, and the severity of restrictions as a negative.
Bloomberg said the top countries like South Korea had the "powerful factor of societal trust and cohesion."
It highlighted the fact that almost 90 percent of the South Korean population is vaccinated, and it had strong compliance with guidelines like mask-wearing.
