Tonight's game two of the Korean Series and with the country shifting towards a gradual return to pre-pandemic life since November, baseball's looking like it used to be.
We have our sports correspondent Han Seong-woo connected live at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, where all the action's taking place.
Seong-woo, what's the atmosphere there like?
"Take me out to the ball game, take me out with the crowd "
Conn-young, you have no idea how long I've been wanting to sing this song at a ball game
Tonight's match, Game two of the best of seven Korean Series between the KT Wiz and Doosan Bears, is taking place as we speak here on neutral grounds at the Gocheok Sky Dome and the stands are packed with fans.
Starting November first, the Korea Baseball Organization has been allowing a hundred percent capacity fan attendance at ball games for the first time in over two years.
But all spectators above the age of eighteen must either be fully vaccinated or show proof of a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours medical exceptions are accepted as well.
Mask wearing is mandatory, obviously, and cheering and chanting are banned.
By the way, the Sky Dome's an indoor ball park so, unlike outdoor ones, eating is not allowed that means no chicken and beer tonight unfortunately.
These measures haven't discouraged fans from enjoying the moment though.
"We've been playing well lately. KT's gonna win "
"Doosan always performs better in the fall. We thrive during the postseason. I trust that this time will be no different."
Wish I could be there myself Turning our focus to the ongoing series, though, Seong-woo, what are some key points to look out for?
Well, this Korean Series is historic for more reasons than one.
First of all, the KT Wiz, champions of the regular season, are aiming for their first ever Korean Series title after joining the KBO League in 2015.
They are the league's tenth and newest ball club so taking home the 2021 title would mean winning it all after just seven years in top flight Korean baseball.
And since they won Game one yesterday, that's highly likely by a whopping 73.seven percent according to data.
For the Doosan Bears, meanwhile, this year's another day in the office.
What I mean by that is that they're the one and only team to have made it to the Korean Series seven years in a row
They've won three of those championships since 2015 by the way, so despite losing Game one, you can't count them out.
That's all I have for now Conn-young, but make sure you tune into the game after this newscast because trust me, anything can happen in baseball.
Back to you.
