South Korea's Hwang Dae-heon has won the men's one-thousand meter gold Sunday, claiming the country's first men's gold medal of the new World Cup season.
With the World Cup taking place in Beijing, Hwang finished in a time of 1-minute 26.zero-two seconds, to claim his place atop the podium.
It marked the lone medal finish in the men's competition for South Korea, as Hwang's teammates failed to advance to the finals in both the 15-hundred and 5-hundred meter events.
