South Korea's exports of automobiles increased in August, marking the eighth consecutive month of growth.
The trade ministry said Wednesday that the value of automobile exports increased by nearly 17 percent last month compared to a year earlier, hitting three billion U.S. dollars for the month.
The rise was in large part on an increase in sales of eco-friendly cars, which hit an all time high.
They accounted for 23 percent of the total.
Shipments of hydrogen cars rose 238 percent on-year, and electric vehicle exports jumped 91 percent.
