History was made in tennis on Saturday at the U.S. Open in New York, perhaps one of the greatest underdog stories of all time.
18-year-old Emma Raducanu of Great Britain became the first player to win a major while having entered the tournament as a qualifier.
She beat 19-year-old Canadian Leylah Fernandez in straight sets.
Fernandez also had to qualify for the tournament, so it was the first U.S. Open final between two unseeded players, a situation that may never occur again.
Raducanu had been ranked 150th in the world but will now rise to 23.
She is also the first British woman to win a Grand Slam since 1977, and she's the youngest woman to win a major since 2004.
To top it off, in the tournament, Raducanu won every single set she played.
