The global shortage of semiconductors, which has affected many different industries around the world, hit sales at Hyundai Motor last month.
The company says sales were down in July by 2.4 percent from a year earlier.
In total, it sold a little under 310-thousand vehicles globally.
Overseas sales were up 4.2 percent to around 250-thousand units, but sales in Korea plunged more than 22 percent to under 60-thousand.
This is Hyundai's first monthly sales decline so far this year.
Because of the chip shortage, Hyundai had to temporarily stop production earlier this year at its plant in Asan.
