More people consuming Korean craft beer while beer import declines

It appears more people in South Korea are enjoying locally-produced craft beer over imported brands.
According to the Korea Customs Service Monday, Korea imported roughly 100 million U.S. dollars worth of beer in the first half of 2021, a five.four percent decline on-year and a five-year-low.
Japanese beer brands, previously among the top sellers in South Korea, once ranking second in import value have slumped to 10th.
Industry sources say they've been hit hard by the 2019 boycott over Tokyo's tariffs while domestic craft beer is appealing more to shifting local tastes.
