Genesis' first-ever EV model presented in 2021 Shanghai Auto Show

South Korean auto giant Hyundai Motor Group on Monday unveiled a new range of electric vehicles at one of the world's largest auto shows to target China's fast-growing electric vehicle market.
At the 2021 Auto Shanghai exhibition, Genesis, the luxury brand of Hyundai Motor, made its very first appearance.
There, it unveiled its first-ever electric model, the Genesis Electrified G80.
"The Genesis Electrified G80, the perfect balance between athletic and elegance, marks the beginning of our journey into the EV market, representing Genesis in the era of electrification."
The G80 all-electric sedan can travel up to 4-hundred-27 km on a single charge and has a solar panel roof capable of charging an average of 8-hundred-30 watt-hours.
Hyundai Motor also presented its all-electric vehicle the Ioniq 5 and Kia Corporation showcased its EV 6.
The two companies plan to release more electric models in China every yearand by 2030, plan to have over 20 electric vehicles for the Chinese market - the world's largest for electric vehicles.
The emerging Chinese market has also attracted many international auto companies to participate in this year's exhibition, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen.
"We have a lot of confidence into the Chinese car market, in total in the Chinese economy. So we believe everything will recover strongly in 2021. As Volkswagen has six new models that we're showing also in Shanghai, because we have great choices for Chinese customers and we remain strong and confident."
Major auto-makers are also running in the EV race.
They are planning big investments to keep up with the evolving EV industry, creating a wide range of electric models to lead the future of mobility.
