Seoul's FM, U.S. climate envoy discuss joint cooperation to tackle climate change

South Korea's foreign minister Chung Eui-yong has conveyed "serious concerns" to U.S. climate envoy John Kerry over Tokyo's plan to discharge radioactive water from Fukushima into the ocean.
Chung and Kerry met on Saturday in Seoul to discuss cooperation on tackling climate change, and on the subject of Fukushima, Chung also asked for Washington's cooperation in ensuring that Japan provides related information in a "transparent and swift" manner.
Chung and Kerry also agreed that the two countries need to take on a leading role in raising international solidarity to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 goal.
