South Korean Oscar nominee Youn Yuh-jung won Best Female Actor in the supporting role category at the 27th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday marking the first time a South Korean actress has achieved the feat.
She won for her role as an unconventional grandmother in the film (mee-na-ree)'Minari.'
She beat off tough competition from contenders, including Glenn Close and Olivia Colman.
Pundits say Youn has a decent chance of winning Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards, where (mee-na-ree)'Minari' has been nominated for six Oscars.
