U.S. COVID-19 cases surpass 100,000

The number of COVID-19 cases has gone well over half a million across the world.
The U.S. has now reported more than 100-thousand cases.

Da-mi. The U.S. now has more cases than any other country in the worldwith over 100-thousand confirmed cases.
The pandemic is accelerating in the U.S.,as COVID-19 cases doubled in just three days.
The death toll has reached over 15-hundred.
New York remains the worst-hit state in the countryaccounting for almost half of the entire figure with at least 44-thousand confirmed cases.
President Trump has taken urgent measures to cope with a shortage of medical supplies on Friday.

"I invoke the Defense Production Act to compel General Motors to accept, perform and prioritize federal contracts for ventilators. Ventilators are a big deal and we've delivered thousands of them."

The U.S. leader said the country will produce 100-thousand ventilators in the next 100 days.
President Trump has also signed a 2 trillion dollar stimulus package -- the largest single emergency aid package in U.S. history -- to help the American public and its economy.
The financial aid includes sending checks to individuals and families, expanding unemployment benefits and providing cash for hospitals and medical workers.

The virus outbreak in Europe is getting worse by the day,and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has tested positive for COVID-19.

Right Da-mi, Prime Minister Johnson said on Friday that he has developed mild symptoms of the coronaviruswhich he described as "a temperature and a persistent cough."
Here's Johnson.

"I've taken a test that has come out positive. So, I am working from home. I'm self isolating, and that's entirely the right thing to do."

The British Prime Minister is the first world leader to be infected with COVID-19.
The number of confirmed cases in the UK has come close to 15-thousand with its death toll at 759after both figures recorded biggest one-day rises to date in deaths and confirmed cases.
Meanwhile,Italy reported 44-hundred new cases of the coronavirus in the past day.
The country has surpassed China with its total number of cases reaching over 86-thousand.
The death toll is at least 91-hundredpushing the fatality rate over 10 percent in Italy.
