Seoul city has cancelled the establishment permission for a church in Seoul that, according to the Seoul Mayor, is part of the Shincheonji religious group.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Mayor Park Won-soon said the church harmed the public safety by hindering the government's quarantine efforts and spreading the coronavirus.
Over 55-percent of confirmed patients in South Korea are the followers of the Shincheonji religious group.
The Seoul Mayor pinned the blame for the outbreak on Lee Man-hee, the head of Shincheonji church.
