The EU's diseases control agency says people hoping the summer heat will stem the spread of COVID-19 are most likely going to be out of luck.
The research goes against previous forecasts by scientists that the spread of the coronavirus will slow as the weather heats up.
The report by the European Center for Diseases Control said there is "no evidence to date that COVID-19 will display marked winter seasonality such as other human coronaviruses in the northern hemisphere."
The report said COVID-19 is able to maintain high levels of reproduction in tropical and humid regions like Singapore.
