# Cheong Wa Dae (A Heavily Secured Palace Turned a Civic Landmark)
Where is the global economy headed amid looming stagflation?
Cheong Wa Dae, often the house with blue roof tiles, was the office and residence of South Korea’s past presidents. Its public entry was banned after the intrusion of North Korean militants in 1968. But the presidential palace has been opened to the public for the first time in 74 years. People are now allowed to look inside Yeongbingwan and the presidential residence and offices. Since the opening of Cheong Wa Dae, the surrounding neighborhood has been reviving with more visitors. Timely Scenes will introduce the heavily secured palace’s transformation into a civic landmark.
