World Ch. Schedule : FRI 22:30 KST
Date : 2019-08-16
Amid a series of missile tests, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un sent a personal letter to U.S. President Donald Trump where he expressed dissatisfaction over the joint military exercises between South Korea and the U.S. Kim's letter has fueled speculation that working-level talks between the two countries could begin as early as late Aug. when the exercises are over. Meanwhile, North Korea's foreign ministry issued a statement condemning South Korea for the joint drills. We are joined by Kim Jina, Research Fellow at the Korea Institute for Defense Analyses, to take a closer look at the latest developments. We also connect with Lee Dong-hyuk, Voice of America Korean Service Chief and Patrick M. Cronin, Asia-Pacific Security Chair at the Hudson Institute, to broaden the perspective.
