The two Koreas, which were walking on thin ice following North Korea’s continued provocations, have taken a drastic turn. Pyeongyang abruptly suspended its military action plans against the South on June 23rd. Kim Jong-un’s order deescalated tensions on the Korean Peninsula, but it doesn’t necessarily indicate the end of all inter-Korean conflict. Meanwhile, President Moon Jae-in urged North Korea to stay on the path of cooperation of peace during the commemoration ceremony of the Korean War’s 70th anniversary. What would Kim Jong-un’s decide to do? We will be joined by a U.S. strategic expert, Lee Sung-hyon, director of the Center for Chinese Studies at the Sejong Institute, and international lawyer Kim Young-jun to discuss these issues.
