Take a Pause – Slow Living

As technology has accelerated, so has the speed of life. Conversations, information, and news travel faster than ever before. People are expected to be connected 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Also, "hustle culture" has people working to the point of burnout. But the faster things become, the more we want to slow them down—and that's where slow living comes in. Jin Kim and Lee Na-young spread the beauty of slow living in Yeongjong-do, Incheon. They say a slow approach toe life restores peace to the mind and body and brings attention to every single moment of life. They also offer slowly-produced and eco-friendly plastic alternatives for items we use in our everyday lives to keep our climate footprint small. Meet the couple and learn more about slow living.

Revealing the truth of comfort women victims

Phyllis Kim first met comfort women victim Lee Yong-soo at the U.S. House of Representative when the so-called ‘comfort women’ resolution was unanimously passed in 2007. Kim, who at the time had translated for the victims, has formed a human rights organization called ‘CARE’ to support comfort women and call for Japan’s compensation to the victims. As an executive director of the group, Kim is working as an activist in the U.S. to let people know about the comfort women issue and pressure the Japanese government to resolve this issue. We meet with Phyllis Kim, who tells us her story on revealing the truth and efforts to restore comfort women’s human rights.
