The world’s voice of concern is rising as Japan is expected to discharge its radioactive wastewater from the Fukushima nuclear power plant into the ocean. Studies show that the wastewater can reach the shores of Jeju Island and influence the marine ecology of the East Sea and the West Sea as fast as a month or at least a year at the latest from the time the water is released. How do South Korean experts perceive this issue? We meet with Professor Suh Kune-yull from Seoul National University and Lee Heon-seok, a policy advisor of the Energy Justice Actions, to hear their thoughts.

People have become reluctant to visit libraries due to the prolonging COVID-19. To solve the inconvenience, a special library has been recently built in Seoul. People can now use an unmanned book rental system to reserve and check out the books they want without visiting the library. In addition, they can also enjoy their read with having plenty of space from others at an outdoor library, the Osol Forest Library. Today, we visit the new ‘contactless library’ to learn about how it helps book lovers in the time of the coronavirus.
