As multiple private spaceflight companies have recently announced their successful launch, the age of space-traveling seems to be inching closer. The intensified dispute between the U.S. and China is prompting the expansion of space programs for resource acquisition, military explorations, and space traveling. While China has been developing killer satellites and satellite-hacking systems, the U.S. has brought back its space command for the first time in 17 years. On the other hand, S. Korea’s space program is considered to be in its primitive stage without the capability to carry out its space projects. But the termination of S. Korea’s missile guidelines in 42 years in May has provided a turnaround for its local space program’s advancement. This week, we invite experts to project the global space competition and discuss the future of S. Korea’s space program.
