Money Monster Episode 99
Untact services to tackle COVID-19 crisis

Along with the continued spread of COVID-19, a lot of people tend to avoid face-to-face contacts. And untact service has become an emerging marketing trend in the year 2020. Increasing number of people have recently preferred using their own cars instead of public transportation, in order to avoid contacts with others. And a car-sharing service, which can order cars for delivery, has recently garnered a lot of attention. And a car-sharing business has provided a strengthened sterilization service in order to prevent possible infection with viruses. The rise of untact services has also affected the real estate market. AR and VR technologies can provide the same conditions as the real house. And a cyber model house, which provides a realistic real estate tour at home, has been developed. The cyber model house is a new type of service that shows houses anytime, at any place. And it is also expected to suggest a new paradigm for the real estate market. Self-taught interior design, which doesn't need help from professional engineers, has garnered a lot of attention. And a company has developed special blocks for self-taught interior design. It enables consumers to build up different sizes and colors of blocks in desired shapes. It doesn’t require additional construction or labor cost. Moreover, consumers can purchase the necessary modules and they can be recycled later, so it has gained popularity as an eco-friendly and economical solution. We report on untact services which have brought about significant changes to the entire society along with the COVID-19 spread.

Revitalizing local economy to combat COVID-19

Considering the continued downturn of local economies and businesses caused by the COVID-19 crisis, a lot of local governments have made utmost efforts to foster a positive environment in order to fight against the ongoing crisis. A local district in Seoul opened a drive-in theater at a park for the local residents for free, in order to provide an entertaining element. As part of an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, hand washing and measurement of heat have been conducted thoroughly before showing the film. A lot of local residents have shown great interest in the drive-in theater, so there’s been fierce competition among the applicants. And most of them are family units. Moreover, another district opened a temporary clinic at a library for general respiratory patients. The clinic is operated based on the reservation system. And primary and secondary selective medical treatments are provided. Based on the public-private cooperation, local doctors have voluntarily offered medical treatments to the patients. A campaign to boost consumption has been promoted in the local district. And it is to support small business owners. The restaurants provide discounts to customers who visit for takeout meals. Making a certain amount of payment in advance and visit the store again to consume products is another measure that has been suggested by the campaign. We look into the ongoing efforts of the local governments which have put top priority on increasing the safety and convenience of local residents.

Remote control technologies amid COVID-19 spread

Along with the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, diversified remote control technologies have been applied to different fields. And the educational market has introduced the technology as well. A technology that can provide non-face-to-face remote learning in real time based on the VR technology has recently been introduced. Students can attend a lecture and learn in real time at any place, only by connecting to the virtual classroom. Teachers and students can make a connection to a virtual classroom. And up to 40 people can have an access at the same time. Universities have extended the period for online lectures because of the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. And a real-time rendering technology has been implemented to enhance the efficiency of the debate class. Moreover, remote learning technologies have also been introduced to the elementary school for improved communication among teachers and students. Unlike existing classes, the information on the contents and assignment is provided to the students in advance. Therefore, students can have enough time to think about the topic and work on the assignment before attending the online class. Students can share their opinions and receive feedback more rapidly, so it has increased their concentration level. We introduce remote control technologies which have achieved rapid growth along with the escalating COVID-19 crisis.
