We are now living in the era where robots and humans coexist. Aside from simple works, robots with an artistic sense have been developed. Art robot sometimes creates paintings that are more sophisticated than the artworks of human. Painting murals on apartment walls is a dangerous work. And robots have replaced human workers. Art robot can realize the design on the wall by using robot and 3D printing technologies. Also, when a customer orders a desired painting for a cake, art robot starts to draw the painting on the cake. And it can provide an interesting experience to visitors. Automobile industry is one of the areas which has high demand for robots. Robots carry out the painting process which applies diversified colors to automobiles. Art robot for painting follows the directions of workers. As it is a six-axis articulated robot, it can spread the sealer on every part of the automobile. Instead of simply replacing human labor force, building an environment that robots and human workers can coexist would be the way to promote safe and ideal development of the society. We introduce art robot, which will be actively used in various industrial areas.
Along with the depletion of oil, a variety of alternative energy sources have been developed. And all eyes are on the rise of hydrogen as a major fuel of the future. A lot of countries have shown great expectations on the growth potential of hydrogen, which can be applied to a wide range of areas including power plant, air conditioning and heating as well as manufacturing. The Korean government unveiled plans for a hydrogen economy and announced the arrival of the era of hydrogen economy. In the roadmap, the government said it would develop world-class hydrogen cars and hydrogen fuel cells. And it will make a lot of efforts to become a country that leads the hydrogen economy. Hydrogen-powered taxi was deployed as a pilot project for the vitalization of the hydrogen economy. It is expected to accelerate the transformation of public transportation into an eco-friendly system. Every part of the car is composed of buttons, so start of an engine and gear shift for parking can be done with buttons. Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles can be charged faster than the existing electric vehicles. Hydrogen used for the hydrogen economy is produced with a hydrogen extractor. The hydrogen production facilities that use LNG used to rely on overseas equipment. However, the facilities have been localized for the first time in the domestic market and it has seized a lot of attention. In comparison to the overseas extraction facilities, economical product which is more than 20% cheaper is expected to be produced. We look into the hydrogen economy, which has been in the spotlight as an emerging renewable energy source that can realize the diversification of energy based on the eco-friendly characteristics.
The trade patterns have been diversified and the amount of trade volume has increased. UNI-PASS, which is a customs clearance system developed by the Korea Customs Service, has enabled more effective management of increased amount of imported and exported items. It is an electronic clearance system that can handle a great deal of imported and exported goods more conveniently and rapidly. Amid the era of the fourth industrial revolution, the Korea Customs Service has made a lot of efforts to apply cutting-edge technologies to the existing electronic clearance system. Drones were introduced in ports to enhance the surveillance on customs borders. A three-dimensional surveillance system was established and it can check the blind areas with drones. Also, researches on AI X-ray with the application of artificial intelligence technology to the existing X-ray system, have been carried out. Moreover, related training programs have been promoted to foster experts who can utilize the cutting-edge electronic clearance system. With the growing popularity of Korea's electronic customs clearance system, other countries have shown great interest in UNI-PASS. Therefore, the Korea Customs Service has provided customs modernization consulting projects to the developing countries that are interested in UNI-PASS. We report on UNI-PASS, which has been developed based on the years of experiences in the field of customs administration.
