A paradigm shift has been occurring in the sports industry. Along with the implementation of various technologies including VR, or virtual reality and wearable devices, the industry has expanded to a wider range of areas including information and communications as well as entertainment. Screen is one of the technologies that has contributed a lot to the popularization of sports. Consumers can play badminton alone, which originally needs a partner to play the game, through a VR screen. Also, an automated shuttlecock launcher can replace a badminton racket and it can provide an improved sense of reality. Moreover, thanks to the development of smart clothing, people can improve their postures and techniques by comparing with professionals even without help from experts. The advanced sports technology of Korea has gained recognition in the global market. An investment company in Silicon Valley, U.S., has invested in the drone soccer competition in Korea. We look into the combination between sports and IT, which has expanded to all parts of the globe including Asia and Europe.
The era of 5G, which has emerged as a new mobile communication system, has arrived. The 3GPP, or the 3rd Generation Partnership Project, which is the organization that governs cellular standards, has officially signed off on the first specification for 5G. Along with the accelerated commercialization process, a lot of global and domestic businesses have boosted the development of 5G technologies with higher frequency ranges and bigger bandwidth. Including the autonomous driving, drone and live streaming service which have been considered as major 5G technologies, 5G network was introduced to the Olympic games which is the world's biggest sporting event, in order to attract more consumers. We introduce the rise of 5G as the core of the fourth industrial revolution and the ongoing development of the related services.
New and renewable energy has been considered as unlimited resources from nature. Clean energy sources like solar power and wind power as well as new energy sources like fuel cell and hydrogen are all included in new and renewable energy. Along with the aggravated climate change and environmental pollution in all parts of the world, securing eco-friendly energy sources have grown in significance. And the Korean government has recently announced "Renewable Energy 3020" implementation plan. Korea Energy Agency is one of the organizations that has actively participated in the government's "Renewable Energy 3020" action plan. In order to keep pace with the government's "New Southern Policy," the agency has provided an event to share Korea's energy policies and technologies with the Vietnamese government, that has recently shown a lot of interest. Rechargeable electric vehicle is one of the emerging businesses in the Korea's new and renewable energy sector. And the charging method has also been applied to motorcycle, which is one of the common means of transportation in Vietnam. Moreover, Energy Data Analysis Center, which provides information on the improved energy-saving technologies of Korea, has established a big data platform for building energy based on the ICT skills. We explore the Korea's low-cost and high-efficiency energy industry which has strengthened its position in the global market.
