When the Korean War broke out, Colombia supported South Korea with around 5,100 armed soldiers, and helped find its peace and freedom. After the war, S. Korea and Colombia made official diplomatic ties on March 10th, 1962 and since then they have explored many fields of cooperation and have maintained and built a strong bond to this day. The two countries signed a FTA in February 2013, which drastically expanded the scope of bilateral trade, including mobile phones, vehicles, coffee, and oil, etc.. More recently, the two parties have been collaborating in the creative industry, in the so-called, ‘orange economy,’ which is based on culture content development, ICT, and the 4th industrial revolution. Together, they’re gaining traction to boost bilateral cooperation and become true partners for mutual future growth. In this episode, we’ll meet with Colombian Ambassador Juan Carlos CAIZA ROSERO to Korea to talk about the future vision for the two countries.
